Daniil Markov back in the lineup
A couple Wings are about to get back on the mend. Daniil Markov, who busted his hand while blocking a shot in practice, has been cleared to play tomorrow. This is great news for Nicklas Lidstrom. Before Markov was injured Lidstrom was on pace to put up +91 rating this season. Since the injury Lidstrom is “only” on pace to go +51. Yeah, Rory Fitzpatrick should start the All Star game over Lids.
Mikael Samuelsson could also be cleared to play either tomorrow or on Thursday. This is probably why Detroit sent Matt Ellis back down to Grand Rapids. With Samuelsson potentially returning to the top line with Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk it will be interesting to see where Tomas Holmstrom plays. He could end up on a line with Valtteri Filppula and Jiri Hudler.
