NHL All Star Recap

Scott Burnside over at ESPN has a good recap on the game. Within the Central Divsion Rick Nash and Martin Havlat each scored two goals.

Joe Sakic assisted on 4 goals and broke Mark Messier’s record for most career All Star assists. As Burnside points out, the older players from the Western Conference keyed the win:

The West was led by Yanic Perreault, 35, a surprise addition to the roster, who had two goals, and Brian Rolston, 33, who also had a pair. Bill Guerin, 36, another surprise member of the team, rounded out the line and had two assists.

Between Zdeno Chara winning the hardest shot competition on Tuesday night and Dion Phaenuf’s crazy clearing attempt that split the posts for an empty-net goal, the NHL put on a good show during this All Star break. The Wings lace ‘em up and go back to work tomorrow night against St. Louis.
