Langfeld Makes Most of Opportunities

George Sipple has a nice article on Josh Langfeld who played his college hockey at the University of Michigan and entered the NHL as a member of the Ottawa Senators. His path to gaining ice time required a move from his spot on the right wing.

“[The Senators] had Daniel Alfredsson on the right wing, Marian Hossa on the right wing, Martin Havlat on the right wing and Chris Neal on the right wing,” Langfeld said. “If I was anywhere else, I probably would have been playing in the NHL. You can’t make those speculations, though. You just have to play with the cards that are dealt to you.”

Langfeld has followed the Dan Cleary path to finding a spot in the lineup. He also brings an aspect you like to see from a bigger forward - an ability to play physical and go into the corner to get the puck.
