Hockey Day provides some Entertainment

George Malik over at Snapshots has some interesting commentary on some of the extra-curricular activities that took place during the open practice the Red Wings held yesterday.

The Wings have evolved by light years in terms of their ability to keep up with Babcock’s fast-paced practices, but that didn’t stop Hudler, Langfeld, Williams, and Lebda from staging a shooting competition at the end of practice–or Zetterberg and Datsyuk from playing a game of “keep away” that included tackling one another on occasion.

A game would have been pretty nice on Hockey Day, but the open practice sounds like it was the next best thing. Kudos to the Wings for allowing the fans to check out the practice and to also use the event to provide youth hockey programs with equipment.
