Toss a new name into the Rumor Mill
Bruce Garrioch from the Ottawa Sun suggests in this article the Wings may be interested in Phoenix Coyote winger Ladislav Nagy. It makes sense. Here is how Garrioch describes the situation:
The Coyotes’ talks with LW Ladislav Nagy about a new contract have been fruitless. Expect him to be moved at the deadline, with Detroit as a possibility.
Every report on Nagy mentions that he has no interest in signing with the Coyotes and will become an unrestricted free agent after this season. There were similar reports regarding Shane Doan but lately there has been word that Phoenix is making a concerted effort to re-sign him and the prospects of that happening are at least decent.
I’m not a huge fan of Nagy’s game, as he’s only cracked 20 goals a season twice in his career. Not very impressive for a supposed sniper. He might be an upgrade over Jason Williams or Mikael Samuelsson on the second line but Jiri Hudler has been more impressive than Nagy this year and Nagy is getting much heavier minutes.
So acquiring Nagy makes some sense and he probably wouldn’t cost much, but I don’t think it is a move that would really make a huge difference for Detroit.

[…] … Ladislav Nagy is now a Dallas Star. So much for this rumor. […]
