Hasek Starts on Friday, Osgood on Saturday
That is what Bruce MacLeod reports in this Thursday practice report over at Red Wings Central. I can understand splitting the starts, but it is interesting that Hasek will not play against Nashville. Expect Hasek to start back to back games on March 13 and 14.

I’m not too surprised. They say Dom has been cleared to play in back-to-back games, but every time anyone talks about it, they’re referring to next month and beyond, not now.
I’m personally glad they’re sticking with the plan they’ve done with all season, which is to only start Dom when he gets a full pregame routine in. That doesn’t happen when they play a home-away back-to-back series. Apparently, hardly anyone on the team will skate Saturday morning and a full on-ice workout is part of the routine designed to warm Dom up for games.
Sure, it looks bad to start your backup in Nashville, but I was very happy with Ozzie on his last outing and he’s more than capable of notching a win. Hopefully his teammates will show up, which is something they haven’t done much in that second game this season…
Very good point. I have warmed to the idea of having Osgood start against Nashville. If he gets the win it will give the Wings some momentum against the Preds. If he doesn’t get the win it isn’t huge.
