Tkachuk on his way to Detroit?
That is what John Niyo of the Detroit News thinks. You can’t link directly to a blog entry at the News, so here is what he has to say:
The news that Joey MacDonald was placed on waivers fits the timeline I suggested earlier, for what it’s worth. So don’t be surprised if your new second-line winger — I’ve said I think it’ll be Tkachuk for quite awhile now — is in place by the end of the weekend.
He thinks that Tkachuk will play for the Blues on Sunday and the trade will go through right after that. Tkachuk would then join the Red Wings prior to the trade deadline just before the Wings play the Blackhawks on Tuesday night. Ansar Khan didn’t say that Detroit would sign Bill Guerin, but suggested that they do so.
So Niyo is on board saying Tkachuk is Detroit’s guy. Khan says Guerin.
