Detroit sits one point ahead of Nashville in both the top spot in the Central Division and atop the Western Conference standings. The two teams will play tonight, which will kick off the battle for the top spot in the division and the conference. They will play each other 4 times over the next 3 weeks, which could go along way towards one team taking a commanding lead or the teams could split the matchups which would help another team - like Anaheim - move to the top spot in the conference.

Also, it looks like Peter Forsberg has finally found footwear that works for him after blowing out a tire in a shootout attempt against the Canadiens the other night:

Apparently they put most of the weight on the toes not the ankle

So if Forsberg gets his first point as a Predator tonight you’ll know the new footwear might be the reason why.
