Kirk Maltby on a Scoring Line?

Well no one is talking about that, especially considering one of the two goals Maltby scored in back to back games against the Predators was an empty-netter. But it is always great for a defensive and checking forward to contribute offensively. Maltby did just that in the first game against Edmonton in the playoffs last year, notching two goals against Dwayne Roloson. Maltby deadpanned in this article from George Sipple that he’ll take them any way he can get them:

“Trust me, I don’t care how they go in,” Maltby said. “I don’t care if I’m the last guy to touch it and they put it in their own net.

“It’s nice. It’s nice to help contribute.”

So when does Maltby get his number called for a slot in the shootout?
