Digs at the Avs never get old
This particular dig has been a favorite of Bill over at Abel to Yzerman. I’m sure he had a nice laugh if he read the latest Larry Brooks article over at the New York Post:
Noticed Ken Dryden’s No. 29 hanging among the Canadiens’ retired numbers at the rink and mused whether any player, other than those who’d been recognized in the aftermath of losing their lives or suffering career-ending injuries, had been similarly honored playing fewer than the seven seasons the goaltender played with Montreal.
The answer is yes. There’s the foolishness of Ray Bourque’s No. 77 being retired in Colorado after the defenseman had spent just over a year with the Avalanche…
As Homer Simpson would say “it’s funny because it’s true.”
