The Big question is Hank & Bert’s Status
There have been conflicting reports on the status of Henrik Zetterberg and Todd Bertuzzi. Fortunately the first game of the series isn’t until Thursday, so we should get some clarity over the next day or two.
Zetterberg participated in the full practice yesterday and appeared to be fine, leading many to believe he will be good to go. Mike Babcock apparently has him penciled in to be his top line center.
Center Henrik Zetterberg, who has been out with an inflamed disk since Feb. 24, participated in all facets of practice on Monday and planned to be in the lineup.
…
“I don’t want to put a percentage down,” Zetterberg said. “I feel better than I did last week. This is the first time I practiced with the guys and did everything that they did and it felt good.”
…
In the past, Zetterberg has described having good and bad days with the inflamed disk. He said Monday: “I would say I haven’t had a bad day in a long time now.”
Todd Bertuzzi did not practice yesterday, apparently still suffering from the after-effects of a concussion from a run-in with goaltender Chris Osgood. While there are reports he is expected to play, the key thing to watch for over the next couple days is whether Bertuzzi practices. If he does it will greatly increase the chances that he plays.
Bruce MacLeod from the Macomb Daily has been great about posting practice notes over at Red Wings Central. He also recently created a blog and suggests that Bert is good to go in this post. He will hopefully post updates at his blog to let us know if Bertuzzi participates in the next practice.
