Matt over at On the Wings has his Gameday post up, and it’s always a good read. He points out that this game is very important for both teams.
This game isn’t the series, but the winner will have a big psychological edge…You know the Flames will be…hoping to steal one on the road. The Wings need to at least match that intensity, if not exceed it. Was Game 1 the start of something new for this team? We’ll know at least part of the answer to that question today.
Yep, if Detroit earns another solid victory this afternoon they are going to be in good shape heading to Calgary. If they suffer the type of loss they’ve had in recent playoff years there are obviously going to be questions about whether they have what it takes to win the series. Such is the manic depressive nature of sports in general and the Red Wings in particular.
Bill over at Abel to Yzerman goes over Hank Zetterberg’s performance in game one and the greatness of the man Bill refers to simply as Norris.
The guys over at Glovside are having some fun going over some of the handiwork with the photoshop artistes over at Let’s Go Wings. I agree with them that this is the best photoshop from the Wings fans.

Kyle at Real Deal hockey says the mood is subdued but that could quickly change if the Flames can pull out the game this afternoon.
While the mood around Calgary has been subdued, most fans still believe the Flames have time to come back. And there is good news for Calgary fans: Robyn Regehr will play.
I know this hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I have it on a pretty respectable authority that Robyn will play come hell or high water. He will not be 100%.
The Calgary Sun has a good tale of the tape in their game preview. Once again Calgary has been better when it comes to special teams:
SPECIAL TEAMS
POWERPLAY — Calgary 20% (1-5, T-7th); Detroit 14.3% (1-7, 10th).
PENALTY KILLING — Calgary 85.7% (7th); Detroit 80% (T-9th).
I think Special Teams will win Calgary at least one game in this series, I just hope it is in Calgary and not at JLA. Finally, here are the Gameday threads at the various Red Wings websites.
