2nd line doesn’t get much ice time in 2nd period

Calgary is up 3-2 after two. Two of their goals of course have come off the power play. Detroit’s specialty teams look inept at best. They have got to cut down on the penalties as a power play for Calgary is pretty much guaranteed to result in a goal. The second line only played one shift in the second period, which doesn’t make a lot of sense. It is probably due in no small part to Franzen spending time on the PK.

Hopefully that second line will get some more shifts in the third period. They were very dangerous in the first period and they were one of the few lines that effectively went to the front of the net to generate quality scoring chances. Otherwise Detroit has been content to take weak shots from far out that have little to no chance of finding the back of the net.
