Bullpen Help Looks like it’s Arrived
This Sea Wolve might have earned a spot in Detroit’s Pen
Eulogio De La Cruz has made two appearances for the Tigers and it appears he isn’t a fan of roller coasters. No, thankfully he’s a guy who likes to keep things boring and efficient. The 23 year old right handed pitcher had a 1-2-3 inning last night, striking out two batters. He also pitched one inning in the previous game, gave up 1 hit but didn’t allow any damage.
In this 2004 top 10 list of Detroit’s top prospects De La Cruz was listed 10th. He was also described as having the best fastball. That list includes Joel Zumaya and Justin Verlander. Oh, and Curtis Granderson was the top-rated prospect on that list. The Tigers are following the exact same script the Red Wings followed when they drafted cornerstone players like Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Federov, Vladimir Konstantinov, Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.
