The Tigers kicked off their 13 game stand against the Tribe and Yanks on the right foot:

…the big hit was the one before Ordonez’s three-run home run in the 10th. The big hit belonged to Gary Sheffield, whose run-scoring single broke the 2-2 tie.

It’s no shock that Ordonez’s huge week (12-for-21, four homers, 14 RBIs in the last five games) has come after Sheffield returned to the lineup.

“He sets the table for everyone,” Ordonez said. “He intimidates the other team. You see when he’s not in the lineup, I’m a different hitter. He makes a difference.”
