Some quick takes:
-Zetterberg had a good game obviously. The even-strength goal didn’t have much to do with him as someone - possibly Hudler - didn’t pick up Bertuzzi as he was trailing the play and scored the goal.
-Franzen didn’t get on the scoresheet but he played the way he needs to play - and the fact he did so against the Ducks is a good sign. Lots of shots, lots of hits. Hudler set him up with a great chance between the circles during the power play. The Mule got off to a decent start.
-Maltby seemed a little energized with Drake on a line with him. He had 3 hits. Draper also seems to be buying into the philosophy as he had 4 hits, which tied Franzen for the team lead.
-I’ve read where some people seem to want to put Hudler and Datsyuk on the same line. It’s only one game but they both look more comfortable as setup men. Datsyuk did get a high quality scoring chance off a nice dangle, but they only combined to register 2 shots on goal - and one of them was blocked. I can see Huds being a good setup man for Zetterberg.

[…] As I mentioned yesterday, he seems like a good fit riding shotgun alongside Hank. Hank is the most dangerous goal-scorer on the squad, so I think Hudler can play off of that, both setting Hank up and making use of the open ice that’s likely to be there when teams focus on trying to stop Zetterberg. I think he has a good shot at scoring 25 goals this season. […]
