A Look back at the roadtrip

Here’s a quick look at which players seemed to really chip in and help the Red Wings take 3 out of 4 games. The big story of course is that the third and fourth lines are starting to come together. Here are the goal and assist stats, along with the even-strength numbers while each player was on the ice over the recently-concluded four game road trip.

This obviously doesn’t total 100% because the d-men scored some and both Hasek and Osgood picked up assists. The one area where the team really needs to come around is scoring from their second line. Valtteri Filppula had some great scoring chances last night and he will start to bury them. Samuelsson has just come back from injury and Franzen could be back within another week so both players could add some firepower to the lineup.

Christy over at Behind the Jersey and Winging it in Motown let me know about the Wolverine-Buckeyes Challenge for Life competition. Being an older alumni of UofM I participated in the blood drive and we used to wax OSU as far as participation in the blood drive went. This new effort is geared towards getting people to sign up as organ donors.

The competition is open to all University of Michigan students as well as residents within the state of Michigan. If you’d like to participate to claim bragging rights from the Bucks [they won last year] then you can sign up at Show Us Your Heart.
