Drawing the Man Advantage
The Forechecker has a nice project going on where he’s tracking which players draw the most penalties this season. Here are the Red Wings who rank near the top of the list.
1. Pavel Datsyuk - 8 penalties drawn
2. Tomas Holmstrom - 5 penalties drawn
2. Henrik Zetterberg - 5 penalties drawn
2. Kris Draper - 5 penalties drawn
5. Dan Cleary - 3 penalties drawn
There’s a rumor circulating that Nicklas Lidstrom is close to signing a two-year contract extension. This follows on the heels of reports that Kris Draper is also close to signing an extension. Prior to the start of the season there was also talk from Ken Holland that the team wanted to get Dan Cleary inked to a new deal during the season. And of course the Wings would like to get Henrik Zetterberg signed to a new deal this summer, which is when they’ll have their first chance to re-sign him.
