Well this sucks

Tonight’s Red Wings game is on the NHL Network. Apparently the NHL Network is even less widely available than Versus! I have Comcast and while channel surfing I see that NHL Net is on channel 404. So I get the game right? Not quite. The channel isn’t available and it lists programming as “NHL on the Fly”.

I called Comcast to discuss and to try and order the NHL Network but they said it wasn’t available. The channel does appear to be reserved and will hopefully be available at some point in the future but being the NHL run by Gary Bettman: a) the channel’s a total SNAFU, b) it isn’t available on a channel anyone can watch, and c) no one who is supposed to know about such things and direct interested parties on how they can watch the programming has any idea it even exists.

The New NHL - catch the fever!! For tonight at least it looks like your best bet is going old school and listening to the radio broadcast. Dan Cleary scored a first period power play goal and Detroit now holds a 1-0 lead.

I was in the same boat tonight….
I’ve paid my $100+ for Center Ice and couldn’t get the game there either. What a crock of sh!@.

Bettman has this whole TV thing screwed up more than the unions and the auto companies.

we have the nhl network in ct and the format is horrible….they go back and forth between the evenings many nhl games showing highlights instead of staying with the main program…..the only period of the wings game they showed in whole was the 3rd

    Joe,

Yeah, I have Center Ice too. I’m definitely looking forward to the NHL Network but it obviously hasn’t been rolled out across the country just yet. So I don’t understand the decision to broadcast the game while not simultaneously showing the game on CI. This is just a really dumb decision on the league’s part.
