Three Stars: Nashville Detroit Series

According to me.

1. Dan Ellis

Dan Ellis was Nashville’s best player and gave them their best chance to claim the series during Game 5 when he stopped 52 of the 54 shots he faced. Wings would go on to win that game 2-1 in overtime. He finished the series leading the NHL with 225 saves and had a solid 93.8% save percentage.

2. Pavel Datsyuk

Datsyuk led all skaters in the series with 3 goals and tied with Jiri Hudler for most points but did so while playing against Nashville’s best lines. He played a key role in killing Nashville’s 5 on 3 man advantage shortly after the Wings took a 1-0 lead in Game 6.

3. Chris Osgood

With Dominik Hasek struggling Osgood was brought into a pressure situation where Nashville had won two straight to even the series. His team also shelled Dan Ellis in Game 5 but could only muster one goal in regulation play. Osgood had to be sharp in order for the team to solve Ellis and win that key game. In all Osgood played 155 minutes and surrendered one goal, which came when Ellis left the ice and the Predators iced six skaters.
