Z scratched?

It looks like Henrik Zetterberg might miss tonight’s game with a wonky groin. He left practice yesterday and unless Emma worked her magic last night Z might not be able to practice today. Bruce MacLeod always provides updates from practice so you can check out his Red Wings Corner blog to see if Z plays and if not who replaces him.

Derek Meech could fill in at forward if necessary. It also sounds like Darren McCarty is close to being ready to return from injury. The Wings will go for their third win in a row tonight when they face the Vancouver Canucks.

UPDATE: Darren Helm got the call-up from Grand Rapids and will play tonight. He was great during last year’s playoff run and was one of Detroit’s better players during training camp and preseason, so it’s awesome to see him get rewarded with the call-up.
